ARGYLL INTERNATIONAL LIMITED – A CARBON NEUTRAL COMPANY

Glasgow-based, Argyll International is a low carbon energy company specialising in energy performance certificates, carbon management and future fuels.  The company registered on the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) website in November 2008 and has been awarded a contract with Scottish Enterprise.  It is currently bidding for a further two contracts in the NHS.

Tendering for public sector contract opportunities was something Argyll had found difficult to access in the past. The company found it challenging to source the tender opportunities and calls for submission across the sector.  Using the PCS site has opened the door to many different opportunities in the public sector for Argyll and given the company invaluable experience in the tendering process itself; from note of interest, to Pre Qualification Questionnaire and final tender submission and interview.

Carolyn Morning, director at Argyll said; “Registering with PCS and using the site has aided our entry to the public sector.  It has provided us with contract opportunities we might otherwise not have identified, given us invaluable experience in the tendering process itself and by bidding for work we have gained greater insight into our market and our competitors.  I believe our win with Scottish Enterprise has raised the profile of Argyll International and helped to establish our reputation as a leading provider of energy performance certificates in Scotland.”

Carolyn continued; “We registered to receive the email alerts.  This service is excellent, acting as a reminder to view the newly launched business opportunities and gives the company a general overview of energy and environmental projects in the market place. This service also points you to the contract award notices and reading these helps to monitor our competitiveness.”

Argyll International is one of a very few companies in Scotland approved by BRE Global as a Certified Assessor for buildings to Levels 3s, 4s and 5s. This enables the company to provide a full service to the commercial sector and award the suite of energy performance certificates for property types including listed buildings, offices, warehouses, specialised laboratories, technology and energy parks.  Argyll recently launched a ‘green - low emission’ fuel trial, seen as the first step towards commercialisation of a greener and cheaper fuel for the energy and transport industries.
