Abstract: This is for the award of the following:
The NGIWMS (North Glasgow Integrated Water Management System) project has been developed to provide a solution for surface water drainage for 4 Development sites in North Glasgow. This solution involves using predicted weather information to automatically create water capacity in the Forth and Clyde canal summit pound in advance of weather events. In this way development surface water can be transferred away to natural water courses without adversely affecting flood impact. The works involve the installation of telemetry and SCADA systems and also new discharge structures to intelligently manage the water levels and also the installation of significant Systems Control to manage this system.
It is estimated that the Construction phase of this project will cost £2-2.5M.
